TheUnited States of America is the second-largest country in North America and third-largest onEarth and comprised of fifty states and a federal district.
The United States was one of the main proponents in World War II, allied with the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, and France. The U.S. became entangled in the war after the attacks on Pearl Harbor (in Hawaii) byJapan's Imperial Navy, and the two countries became two of the strongest nations in the fight. The U.S. ended the war by dropping nuclear bombs on the Japanese military cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which resulted in mass destruction and many deaths.
Several years later in1954, America was carrying out a Nuclear Test codenamedCastle Bravo. Fallout from this test at theBikini Atoll drifted over a Japanese fishing boat called theDaigo Fukuryu Maru (Lucky Dragon No. 5), and led to its occupants suffering from radiation sickness shortly after returning to Japan. It was these two bombs, along with the later test and the resulting horror and destruction, that led to the idea forGodzilla.

The United States was one of the nations involved in World War II and was an Allied power fighting against the rivaling Axis powers. In 1944, an American pilot namedHank Marlow battled with Japanese pilotGunpei Ikari after they crash-landed onSkull Island after a dogfight. They sparred until Gunpei got the upper hand and nearly killed Marlow until they were interrupted by Kong's arrival. Sometime later, Gunpei and Marlow put their country's differences aside and became friends, though Gunpei was later killed by a Skull Crawler, much to Marlow's dismay.
In 1946,Monarch was formed by President Harry Truman to study the existence of Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms and if necessary kill them to prevent mass panic and keep them a secret from the public.In 1954, the United States Navy collaborated with Monarch to study Godzilla and lure him toBikini Atoll to kill with a hydrogen bomb under the guise of bomb testing.
During the Vietnam War in 1973, many were protesting in the streets ofWashington, D.C. to end U.S involvement in the war. At this time, a helicopter squadron called theSky Devils were stationed at Da Nang Air Base inVietnam during the war.
In 2014, the United States suffered a series of devastating attacks and skirmishes by two MUTO's andGodzilla. The first attack occurred inHonolulu, in which themale MUTO attackedHonolulu International Airport before he had a brief confrontation with Godzilla. A large part of Honolulu was destroyed when Godzilla's arrival inadvertaly caused a tsunami. Las Vegas was decimated byfemale MUTO who rampaged through the city after being awakened from her containment site. The final assault occurred inSan Francisco, in which the U.S military attempted to to take out the monsters, suffering several casualties as a result. However, the two MUTO's were slain by Godzilla who left the next morning and departed to the ocean again.
The attacks were responsible for revealing the existence of theTitans to the public. Monarch's existence also became public knowledge as well. The attacks resulted in massive property damage and a large loss of human life, as memorials were installed to honor those lost in the attacks. The U.S government and then public alike had a bad opinion of the Titans, believing that they should be exterminated to prevent another horrific attack from occurring.
In 2019,King Ghidorah was awakened by rogueMonarch operativeEmma Russell and a group of eco-terrorists led by formerBritish Army colonelAlan Jonah. AfterGodzilla was seemingly killed by theOxygen Destroyer and Ghidorah proclaimed himself the King of the Monsters, several Titans awakened from their containment sites around the United States. Among them beingScylla andQueen MUTO, the former of which attacked Phoenix. During Ghidorah's reign of terror,Washington, D.C. was destroyed and the U.S military suffered heavy casualties fighting againstRodan. After a final battle that leveledBoston, Ghidorah was slain by Godzilla, allowing the latter to render the Titans docile.
