Anguirus attacks Shanghai inGodzilla: Final Wars
Whenkaiju began to appear all across the world without warning,Anguirus appeared in Shanghai. TheEarth Defense Force deployed the vehicleKaryu to stop the monster, which fought him to a draw. Suddenly, Anguirus and all the other monsters around the world were teleported away by an advanced alien race known as theXiliens, who claimed to have come to save humanity. However, the EDF exposed the Xiliens' true plan, to conquer theEarth and enslave humanity. After the plan was exposed, the Xiliens' leader,X, released all the monsters again. Anguirus resumed his attack on Shanghai, while the Karyu was helpless against the kaiju and theXilien Fighters and was destroyed. Eventually, with Shanghai in ruins, Anguirus was taken away and released atMount Fuji to fightGodzilla.
