In addition to announcing thenew Chevy Silverado ZR2 undergoing testing in the Middle East thatGM Authority reported earlier this week, General Motors is making final revisions to the new GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate before its official launch in Southwest Asian countries.
The new GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate is part of the automaker’s strategy for the full-size pickup segment in the Middle East, as its new luxury pinnacle truck. To ensure a successful launch later this year, the GM regional team has put the Sierra Denali Ultimate through hard road testing in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates.
“Before we launch a vehicle in market, we execute a program tailored around each vehicle, with on-road and off-road evaluation, where relevant, covering thousands of kilometers to ensure that our vehicles not only meet but surpass our local customers’ expectations,” said Regional Quality Manager, GM Africa, and the Middle East, Daniel Oden, in a statement. “The all-new GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate has accumulated over 100,000 km of the local road test, to be certain it’s primed for launch later this year,” he added.
Final testing of the new GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate in the Middle East focuses on ensuring the premium in-cabin experience. The quality team wants the improvements to go beyond aesthetics and for all elements to work properly, using noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) as well as road compliance testing mechanisms that identify any unusual noise to be corrected.
Another critical aspect in the validation process is ensuring that the pickup truck’s technological systems work correctly and are well adapted for the Arabic language. GM has adapted the infotainment system and Google’s built-in tools like voice assistant, navigation, and other apps to work seamlessly in the Middle Eastern language.
The new GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate is expected to officially launch in Middle East countries during the fourth quarter of this year, following the local introduction of the 2022 model-year nameplate in July, and about ayear later after having been announced for the region.
