FIFA have confirmed the final composition of the pots for the 2026 World Cup draw, scheduled for December 5th. Teams qualifying through the World Cup play-offs will be placed in Pot Four. Furthermore, the top two ranked nations (Spain, Argentina) have been seeded to avoid each other until a potential final. A similar arrangement applies to the teams ranked 3rd and 4th (France, England), ensuring they are placed on opposite sides of the bracket.
Pot allocation was determined by the FIFA rankings, ordered from highest to lowest. The three host nations (Usa, Mexico, Canada) are automatically placed in Pot One.
FIFA's draw restrictions state that no group can contain more than one team from the same confederation, with the exception of UEFA, which will have 16 qualified teams. Each group will feature at least one European team, and some groups may contain a maximum of two because of UEFA participants.
