I was readingthe wiki, to see what is included and not.

I was wondering, what does this option mean?

Is it this?:

I want to have HighDPI with a custom resolution, so I don't know if I need to buy a license or not. Thanks for clarifying!

I bought a license already in the past but unfortunately it got expired.

You can use the outdated license if you don't want to get a new one and upgraded your earlier installation (you'll get a warning about it being outdated, but that's it).

Flexible scaling is this:https://github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay/wiki/Fully-scalable-HiDPI-desktop#setting-up-flexible-scaling

Regarding the license, I get this:

I currently only use this functionality:

Setting a custom resolution and having it with HighDPI. I don't need any additional configuration (all the other stuff is cool to play around with but in my daily work it's not needed).

I don't know if I really needed the license in the past for the functionality, but my guess is that I bought it to support the project at the time. Currently I'm putting every penny in finding a house. Otherwise I bought a new license immediately to support the project again.

You can install v3, activate, upgrade to v4 to get around that. If you created a custom resolution, the app will enable HiDPI, Pro is not needed for that. If you don't need any Pro features, you are fine running the no-pro version. But during the trial all Pro features are still enabled.

Thanks, I did the trick with version 3->4!
