Before You File a Proposal Please Confirm You Have Done The Following...

My proposal is suitable for this project

  • I believe my proposal would be useful to the broader TypeScript community (meaning it is not a niche proposal).

Link to the rule's documentation

https://typescript-eslint.io/rules/prefer-includes

Description

I activated@typescript-eslint/prefer-includes rule at my code base and found the useless check on the indexOf result.

The mentioned rule is analyzing this code anyway, but I have no idea if this buggy code is best reported by this rule, another rule or typescript itself.

Fail

if(myArray.indexOf(myItem)>=-1){//}

Pass

if(myArray.indexOf(myItem)>-1){//}
