@Tobion@sroze Is there interest in this feature? I'm also wiling to help/rebase this . I see that#37794,#36196.#41007 and#36864 (comment) somehow relate to this.

@nicolas-grekas@Nyholm I saw that there was a progress with issue#36864. Before final decision could you compare this two PRs. For me possibility to use and configure exchange as a default exchange ('') is a big plus. Probably we could merge both implementations in one?
