About stdlib...

We believe in a future in which the web is a preferred environment for numerical computation. To help realize this future, we've built stdlib. stdlib is a standard library, with an emphasis on numerical and scientific computation, written in JavaScript (and C) for execution in browsers and in Node.js.

The library is fully decomposable, being architected in such a way that you can swap out and mix and match APIs and functionality to cater to your exact preferences and use cases.

When you use stdlib, you can be absolutely certain that you are using the most thorough, rigorous, well-written, studied, documented, tested, measured, and high-quality code out there.

To join us in bringing numerical computing to the web, get started by checking us out onGitHub, and please considerfinancially supporting stdlib. We greatly appreciate your continued support!

substringAfterLast

NPM versionBuild StatusCoverage Status

Return the part of a string after the last occurrence of a specified substring.

Usage

To use in Observable,

substringAfterLast=require('https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/stdlib-js/string-substring-after-last@umd/browser.js')

To vendor stdlib functionality and avoid installing dependency trees for Node.js, you can use the UMD server build:

varsubstringAfterLast=require('path/to/vendor/umd/string-substring-after-last/index.js')

To include the bundle in a webpage,

<scripttype="text/javascript"src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/stdlib-js/string-substring-after-last@umd/browser.js"></script>

If no recognized module system is present, access bundle contents via the global scope:

<scripttype="text/javascript">(function(){window.substringAfterLast;})();</script>

substringAfterLast( str, search[, fromIndex] )

Returns the part of a string after the last occurrence of a specified substring.

varstr='beep boop';varout=substringAfterLast(str,'b');// returns 'oop'out=substringAfterLast(str,'o');// returns 'p'

By default, the search starts at the end of the string and proceeds backwards to the beginning. To start the search at a specified index, specify an integer for thefromIndex argument.

varstr='beep boop';varout=substringAfterLast(str,'b',3);// returns 'eep boop'

Notes

  • If a substring is not present in a provided string, the function returns an empty string.
  • If provided an empty substring, the function returns an empty string.

Examples

<!DOCTYPE html><htmllang="en"><body><scripttype="text/javascript"src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/stdlib-js/string-substring-after-last@umd/browser.js"></script><scripttype="text/javascript">(function(){varstr='To be, or not to be, that is the question.';varout=substringAfterLast(str,', ');// returns 'that is the question.'out=substringAfterLast(str,'to be');// returns ', that is the question.'out=substringAfterLast(str,'question.');// returns ''out=substringAfterLast(str,'xyz');// returns ''out=substringAfterLast(str,'');// returns ''})();</script></body></html>
