What is TestProf?

TestProf is a family of tools to analyze and optimize Ruby test suites performance. With the help of custom profilers andrecipes, you can save a lot of time waiting for your tests to finish running and CI builds passing.

TestProf summarizes years of work on faster tests atEvil Martians—a team of experienced engineers and open source enthusiasts from Earth (and Mars).

Why support TestProf development?

TestProf grew into a largemega-tool combining multiple (almost) independent libraries. The development of new features is becoming more time-consuming; regular maintenance and bug fixing are required.

With your help, we'll be able to allocate more time for the product and supporting projects in the following areas:

• Reporting improvements, including the ability to persist the results, different output formats, new visualization tools.
  Better CI integration, so TestProf could be used to prevent slow tests from being merged into master.
• Parallel/concurrent tests support.
• TestProf v2 development, including splitting the singletest-prof library into components, unifying internal APIs, etc.
• Performance testing utilities.
