Sipcalc is an console based ip subnet calculator with IPv4 and IPv6 support.
Sipcalc development started back in 2001 and has most of the features I wantin an ip calculator. It is no longer under active development, though bugfixesand patches are accepted.
Sipcalc is available in many Linux/BSD distributions, usually as a package named sipcalc. Release tarballs are available fromhttp://www.routemeister.net/

- Multiple address and netmask input formats.
- Retrieving of address information from interfaces.
- Classfull and CIDR output.
- Multiple address and netmask output formats (dotted quad, hex, numberof bits).
- Output of broadcast address, network class, Cisco wildcard, hosts/range,network range.
- Output of multiple types of bitmaps.
- Output of a userdefined number of extra networks.
- Multiple networks input from commandline.
- Parsing of a newline seperated list of networks from standard input (STDIN).
- The ability to "split" a network based on a smaller netmask, now also withrecursive runs on the generated subnets.
