sftime provides time extension for simple features in R.sftime isan extension to thesf package. Itallows to store spatial features which are accompanied by timeinformation, similar to thestars package.

sftime is a complement to thestars package: Whereasstars isdedicated to handle regular spatiotemporal data, where space and timerepresent array dimensions of data cubes,sftime provides a genericdata format which can also handle irregular spatiotemporal data.

Examples for such data include earthquakes, accidents, disease or deathcases, lightning strikes, but also movement data which have furtherconstraints.

You can install the CRAN version of the package with:

install.packages("sftime")
