Improvements to the type system should be discussed onPython's Discourse, and aretracked in theissues in thisrepository.

For conversations that are more suitable to a chat platform, you can use one of the following:

This GitHub repository is used for several things:

• The documentation attyping.python.orgis maintained in thedocs directory. This includes thespecification for thetype system. See especiallythe update procedurefor the spec.

• Adiscussion forum for typing-related userhelp is hosted here.

• Conformance test for Python static type checkers. Thelatest conformance test results are here.

Historically, this repository also hosted:

• Thetyping_extensions package, which now lives in thetyping_extensions repo.It used to be in thetyping_extensions directory.

• A backport of thetyping module for olderPython versions. It was removed after all Python versions that lacktypingin the standard library reached end of life. The last released version,supporting Python 2.7 and 3.4,isavailable at PyPI.
