Proposal:

There are unused imports in the tests. There have been previous efforts to remove them from the stdlib and tests:

• Remove unused imports - March 2025 Edition #131152
• Remove unused imports from the stdlib #120417

I'll remove some from the tests and add a lint rule to prevent new ones. Often they're forgotten when refactoring code or removing deprecations.

Has this already been discussed elsewhere?

This is a minor feature, which does not need previous discussion elsewhere
