meta-commands with this option. To achieve that, you could

pipe the string into <application>psql</application>, like

this: <literal>echo"\x \\ SELECT * FROM foo;" | psql</literal>.

this: <literal>echo'\x \\ SELECT * FROM foo;' | psql</literal>.

(<literal>\\</> is the separator meta-command.)
