Code is great, (learning) to code a bit less so.
For anybody not using matplotlib very often I'd say a visual builder would slash development time.

Proposed solution

Maybe start withhttps://matplotlib.org/stable/_images/anatomy.png and make it interactive ?

Especially in Jupyter(Lite) it would allow so many more people to start making reproducible plots
