I'm using Kitty on macOS.
The image displays when I runkitten icat “test.webp”,
but it doesn't display when I runfastfetch --kitty-direct “test.webp”. Why is that?

kitty supports png format only with--kitty-direct. You either:

  1. convert webp to png (preferred)
  2. use--kitty (buggy)
  3. use ghostty or wezterm that supports other formats with--kitty-direct
