An experimental repository for collecting electron-react-boilerplate (ERB) RFCs. ERB RFCs areproposals to alter ERB, erb-cli, or the site. They are meant to gather feedbackand collect constraints, as well as to bikeshed various options.
The text below is preliminary. We've not really done any RFCs yetand we don't quite know what process we want. The idea is to start offwith a few "seed RFCs" and gain experience before we start fieldingmany RFCs.
First, hop onto the ERB Gitter channel and run the idea by somebodyin theERB core team. If there is general agreement that the ideais worth pursuing, then you can go ahead and open a PR that adds a newfile to theaccepted
directory, starting fromthetemplate. Tag the PR with a subject line like "[WIP] Mygreat idea". Opening early helps make the process morecollaborative. We can discuss on the PR itself and ultimately reachsome sort of consensus.
The intention is for discussion to reach a "generalconsensus" -- not necessarily about theoutcome but about thecontours of the solution space. In other words, a general agreementas to the pros and cons of each alternative, if not necessarily therelative importance of those pros and cons. Ulimately, decisionsregarding ERB are decided via theERB core team. Thereasoning of those decisions will always be laid out in comments onthe RFC itself.
The ERB core team currently consists of @amilajack and @vikr01.
