With all the changes is repo and various open PRs around I would like to work towards a new release.

Bug that needs to be fixed before releasing the plugin

I have two patches locally that I will create PRs for when the PRs above are merged

• Removing of trailing whitespace happens for selected lines, not all lines #57

An update to the README is much needed. Some sections are outdated.
And the CHANGELOG (I have a local patch) most be updated as well.
