"Machine doing, human learning" - Me, 2024

My name is Bert and I am a data scientist and econometrician from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 currently living on Bonaire 🇧🇶 in the Caribbean Netherlands.

  • 🧑🏻‍🎓 I have a PhD in Econometrics with a specialization in forecasting
  • 🔉 After that, I have spent the majority of my career in media data world, modeling causal relationships between marketing campaigns and various types of KPIs
  • 🤔 I’m looking for help with finding a new remote job that can be done from Bonaire 😉
  • 👯 I’m looking to collaborate on anything that interests me - feel free to reach out!
  • 🔭 I’m currently working on projects called intervalues, cs-rankings and nl_maps (see below)
  • 🌱 I’m self-taught in various programming languages
  • ⚡ Fun fact: I am also learning Spanish - ¡Lo hablo un poco pero quiero aprender más!
  • 💬 Ask me to help you with topics like:
    • 📈 (Bayesian) statistics, Econometrics, Forecasting, Modeling decisions, MCMC samplers
    • 🖥️ Python, Docker, Automation, Git, Linux, Rust
    • 📺 Media data, Advertisement impact measurement and Marketing effect estimation
