Thanks. You're correct.
In fact we could write = 2^... - 1, which would be the exact sum. But it's fine also that way.

1+2+4+...2^ceil(log_2(n))is less than2^(ceil(log_2(n))+1)E.g.
n=5, left side is1+2+4+8=15, and right side is2^(3+1)=16
