Display of show source exceptions and startup file not being present byte strings to be send to curtsies format strings which now accept only unicode, crashing bpython.

6ffd412#commitcomment-10084275 fixes this issue but we're not merging that, we don't want moreif py3: unicode = str so need to find another way to deal with this.
