I have a question about the correctness of ping. Should wewait until keep alive expires? Most likely the server will disconnect the client and we will not be able toping().
Maybe the condition should be something like(now - _lastPingTx) >= (_keepAliveInterval * 0.9f)?

I ask because we have encountered a situation where abroker disconnects a client.
