Our Work on the Sustainable Development Goals in Ghana

How the UN is supporting The Sustainable Development Goals in Ghana

The UN and its partners in Ghana continue working towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): 17 interconnected and ambitious Goals addressing the country’s and the world’s major development challenges. At the core of this engagement lies the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2023–2025)—extended by the Government of Ghana for an additional year. This framework remains the most important instrument for planning and implementing UN development activities at the country level.Built on three foundational pillars—inclusive economic transformation, equitable access to social services, and sustainable peace and security—the framework outlines the UN’s integrated contributions towards achieving the SDGs. It demonstrates a resolute commitment to inclusivity, human rights, gender equality, resilience, sustainability, and accountability. In parallel, the UN is finalizing its Country Analysis, a comprehensive assessment of national development priorities, challenges, and opportunities. This analysis will serve as the evidence base to inform the next generation of the Cooperation Framework, ensuring that UN support remains aligned with Ghana’s evolving needs and aspirations.Together, these efforts demonstrate the UN’s steadfast support for Ghana’s journey towards self-reliance and sustainable development.
