In the world of Heatwave, a decade long drought has caused desertification on a global scale. Your small band of survivors has survived so far by rationing what was left, but now water is running out, and with the temperatures rising rapidly, you have no choice but to make for the city.
Heatwave pits the player against the board in a race against time. It plays like a board game, with a roll of the die starting each turn. Cards are drawn from the event deck, and the player must weather the events and keep as many party members alive as possible until they reach the goal. With 10 unique characters and a variety of events, Heatwave is sure to have the player coming back for more!
This game was made for the June/July Jackpot Jam, following the "Heatwave" theme!

Very nice game. I like the atmosphere.
Would be nice if there where more tactical options to it and a little less pure luck.
I played 3 rounds:
1. round I started with only the 2 water bottles and kept throwing heat symbols with the dice. So I quickly lost
2. round I was doing ok. But then I hit a bug when I couldn't roll the dice or activate a card or item. So I was stuck and hat to restart
3. round I started with the tents and extra drinks from my characters boni. Also rolled a lot of water icons with the dice. So I didn't have to use any of those. Would have been an easy perfect score win. But I hit the same bug again :(
Update: score 56 on round 4 (30+(4*4)+10)
Great game! It's always nice to see card based games! There seems to be a good variety of characters to start with and event cards and items. I do like the "scrying" cards that let you see what's to come, so the game becomes more strategic in planning and how you manage your resources.
I managed to get a score of 38! I hope that's good! If not, it was still very fun!
This was a very interesting game! I got too attached to the scouting dog and got very sad when he didn't make it. The music fit perfectly with the ominous feeling of the game, over all a very enjoyable game :D
I don't know if you've heard of Game Development World Championship before (gdwc2019) but it's a competition for indie game developers where they can submit their games and it's free! It's great if you want some more visibility for the game and it only takes a couple of minutes to join :)
