Sanremo Giovani 2018 est la douzième édition deSanremo Giovani, se déroulant du 17 au. L'événement, retransmis en direct surRai 1 etRai Radio 2 et présenté parPippo Baudo etFabio Rovazzi, réunit vingt-quatre artistes émergents italiens pendant deux jours. Aux deux soirées finales s'ajoutent également, du 17 au, quatre émissions quotidiennes de présentation des artistes et chansons, présentées par Luca Barbarossa et Andrea Perroni, intituléesEcco Sanremo Giovani.
En il est annoncé que la sectionNuove Proposte duFestival de Sanremo est abandonnée. L'émissionSanremo Giovani la remplace alors[1].Sanremo Giovani n'est alors plus une sélection pour la sectionNuove Proposte, désormais inexistante. Cependant, chaque soir parmi les douze artistes participants un chanteur se qualifie dans la — désormais unique — compétition duFestival de Sanremo 2019.
De plus, lors de chaque soirée, en plus du chanteur choisi, onze des participants duFestival de Sanremo 2019 seront annoncés.
Six des participants ont été sélectionnésvia l'édition 2018 deArea Sanremo.

Les soirées finales se déroulent les 20 et. Elles sont présentées parPippo Baudo etFabio Rovazzi. Lors de chaque soirée, douze artistes se produisent et interprètent leur chanson. Le télévote et le vote du jury désigneront alors un d'entre eux comme participant duFestival de Sanremo 2019. De plus, les noms des vingt-deux autres artistes du Festival seront annoncés, au rythme de onze par soir.
