Then it installed a Kext that after rebooting, it magically started trimming the drive. I didn't even run any Samsung APP after I installed it.

I know this thread is several months old, but I was wondering if you or anyone else knows if this Activation Software would work on the T7Shield?

I ask because the available software to download for the T7 Shield model does not include the Activation Software, just the 'Magician' software, which many people are saying to stay away from, but I am wondering if the Magician software includes the Activation functionality as well.

Also, with this Activation Software installed, a few months later, is TRIM still active?

In my experience (I did briefly use Magician with T7 and T5), it does not.
