Safari Tahoe. Recently Saved Huge Icons

You should upgrade or use analternative browser.
It really is obnoxious and I have no idea why Apple would place it on top instead of the bottom or even give the option to remove it in the menu almost besides it.
Do you spend a lot of time looking at your bookmarks page? To me, it shows my saved pages quicker.

It's an unstructured list of recent saves, most of which I don't have interest in most of the time.

It's a bit like Recents on Finder (or Recent Items on Windows Explorer) - something I always turn off as it's useless to me 99%+ of the time.

It's a list of websites that you have added to the reading list aka saved. If you don't want to see them, perhaps don't add them. I quite like to see the most recent 'saved' websites, as I've saved them for a reason.

Sadly, nope.

But, I did call Apple Support and got "some" help.
Empty the recently saved folder and the huge icons disappear.
That will delete the saved bookmarks as well. Not good.

So far, I’ve come to the conclusion that MacOS 26 and Liquid Glass is grotesque. But whatever.. I'll live with it. Except..how does one get rid of those ENORMOUS squares of Recently Saved at the top Bookmarks menu? Do we have to live with that now? This whole new OS feels like Fisher Price was their designer.
I've intentionally avoided upgrading my M1. I have the auto-update/install feature turned off. I'm considering going back to BSD/Linux eventually unless things change. But I expect macOS 15 will be getting security and browser updates for a couple years yet so I'm not in a rush.
