Is anyone else surprised they released on a holiday?
No, it's only a federal holiday. Most private businesses and companies are open today.

Thats interesting. I am also from Germany, but I am not able to find this screen.
Good finding those !

This should imply, that there are some new Apple Intelligence Features but I am not sure, which ones and what capabilities they have.

If it's like previous X.4 beta cycles the first beta is around 10-12 days and then weekly, with a total of 4 betas.

If it's not a weird cycle we should see release around the 30th March.
I hope so, that’s my birthday! 😁

System Data jumped to over 128Gb ??!!
How is this possible?

I'd say just give it some time. iOS uses that "folder" to categorize things, although after a big update there's a lot of indexing happening, and this probably accounts for it.

think its definitely still processing a lot ... it is still running pretty "hot"

EDIT:
... and became unusable with only a few GB storage left it landed in a constant respring
Restoring currently

I'd suggest installing using a wired connection and the downloaded .ipsw file, just to rule out any connection issues. The install could have been borked or something. But, I've seen my own iPhone get super hot and use up a ton of storage, and then other times it's as smooth as butter.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Downloaded the ispw and restored. eSIM and Wallet fine. Now loading the iCloud backup

So, I have a prediction. I'm an F1 junky and noticed that the F1 section is now in the Apple TV app with this Beta release. My prediction is 26.4 will have to release by March 5th as they are the new exclusive streamer of F1 and this would need to be available from that date.
I see the F1 section on 26.3

This wouldn't require an OS update. The F1 deal requires an Apple TV subscription, not Apple TV hardware. We can watch Apple TV content on pretty much any device these days. The F1 section shows up for me in the Apple TV app on my Samsung TV and Rokus.

If 26.4 needed to be released by March 5th, that would mean we only have one beta and the RC next week...that just isn't realistic.

24h later. System Data fills up again. Only waiting it from getting unresponsive again…. But then it will be 26.3 to be restored 🫩

To restore the iPhone, did you use the Apple Devices program on Windows or with a Mac?

I used the Mac, showing the iPhone in Finder and selecting alt-restore to select the ispw.
Had around 1GB available today…

Does it still seem to be indexing or is it still kinda warm/hot? If it’s cool, it’s probably finished, I’d say to reboot it then. Indexing may be taking a long time, too, due to the lack of free space.
How much free space did you have before trying to update, just curious?

I was asking because I have Windows and restoring with iTunes and the new app deleted my eSIM, even though I had it. Given how Spanish carriers handle obtaining eSIMs, this is a real problem.
