The organization has updated its symbols. There are a new Coatof Arms (seehere)featuring the insular domains of the country (that isSan Andrés); new logo (seehere)that is used as alternate Coat of Arms, and a new flag, which is the same color pattern of an orange flag with a whiterectanlge on the canton and the Coat of Arms on it.

The structure of the Defensa Civil as it currently operates todayis basically defined by Decree No. 2341 of 1971, operating undertheMinistry of National Defence.

The description of the coat of arms: "White ground inwhich there is an equilateral triangle with the verticedownwards, horizontally divided in the middle; the upper sectionus further divided vertically in two, the left is yellow and theright is blue. In the central part of the upper fess thereis the figure of the war deity of the Agustinian civilization,the lower part of the triangle is red and contains the letters DC in black. In tuter fields of the tringle there is writen themotto of the Institution" The motto is "Listos en paz oemergencia" [Ready in Peace and Emergency].
