Zola (Japanese:ゾーラZola) is a dark mage ofNohr, known to be a master of illusions and the ability to alter one's appearance with dark magic.

Biography

InBirthright andRevelation, Zola tries to trickCorrin into execution by disguising himself asIzana, the Archduke ofIzumo. He performs this by taking Corrin andSakura to the execution room at the Izumo Castle. InBirthright, he takes Corrin to the room, until revealing himself as Zola and traps Corrin and Sakura in, only forHinoka andKaze to attack the Nohrian forces, as they were both disguised as Nohrian forces. InRevelation,Gunter was already able to notice that Zola was disguised as Izana and exposed him before he took Corrin to the execution room. Because of this, he uses an ice bomb created byGaron to imprison the village in a thick layer of ice.

After failing in both routes,Leo will appear after the battle, calling him a coward and begins to kill Zola himself. InRevelation, Leo is successful at killing Zola, however inBirthright, Corrin convinced Leo to spare his life, and wandered away. Zola appears to be following the army because of Corrin's kindness, although Zola remains a non-playable character. InChapter 11,Sumeragi andVallite soldiers plan to defeat the army on their boat, causing the ship to crash in the process. After the battle,Takumi gets a surprise-attack from Sumeragi, only for Zola to take the blow, until Sumeragi disappears, and Zola gets healed by Sakura, as prove of his loyalty to the army. Later on, inChapter 12, the army plan a trap for Garon atNestra's opera house by asking Zola to use his magic onAzura, to disguise asLayla for the army to begin trapping Garon in. However, when they arrive at the opera house, Zola betrays the army and allows Garon to ambush them and take over the opera house. Despite this, Garon calls him out for attempting to order him around and executes Zola just before the battle.

InConquest, Zola plays a similar role to disguising himself as Izana, but instead of tricking Corrin, he tricks theHoshidan royal family at Izumo and traps them in the execution room. While Zola believes that he got away with the perfect plan,Xander states that he doesn't want to win the war in such a dishonorable way, and Corrin's army instead attacks Zola and the Nohrian army to save the Hoshidans. After his defeat, he begs for mercy, only for Leo to kill him for attempting to kill the Hoshidan while unarmed and nearly winning the war in a cowardly way.
