TheLongsword (Japanese:長柄刀Long-Hilted Sword) orZanbato (Japanese:斬馬刀Horse-Cutting Sword) is asword which was introduced inFire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. It is designed to fight units fighting onhorseback, and isvery effective againstCavaliers,Paladins,Troubadours, and similar classes. However, its length makes it veryheavy andslows down its wielder significantly.

- Despite Longswords not actually being an item inFire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, they are mentioned in thebonus damage tutorial in the English version of the game.[1] In the Japanese version ofRadiant Dawn,Horseslayers are mentioned instead of Longswords.
