TheWolfssegner (Japanese:マーナガルムManagarmr) is anadvanced,Nohr-alignedclass which was introduced inFire Emblem Fates. It is thepromoted form of theWolfskin, and is a non-human shapeshifting class which usesbeaststones to take the form of a powerful wolf-like beast in battle.

TheHoshidan counterpart of the Wolfssegner class is theNine-Tails. Enemy Wolfssegners, along with their basic form and their Hoshidan counterparts, are among the few playable classes whose generic enemy members are notcapturable.

Wolfssegner

Derived fromWolfssegen, a charm used to repel wolves in Bavarian folklore. These charms were sold by elderly men known asWolfssegner (literally, "wolf charmers"), who were originally tolerated, but were persecuted in the 1590s as they were believed to actually be werewolves.

Officially romanized asManagarmr. In Norse mythology, "Mánagarmr" (literally, "Moon-hound") is another name forHati Hróðvitnisson, a wolf who is said to pursue the moon across the night sky and is fated to consume it in the time of Ragnarok.
