Wolfskin Peak (Japanese:人狼の峰Werewolf Peak) is the fifteenth chapter of theBirthright campaign inFire Emblem Fates. In this chapter,Corrin's army makes their way through Mount Garou—home of thewolfskin—to infiltrate the heart ofNohr; they are forced to fight whenIago tricks the wolfskin into battle.

Clearing this chapter withKaze alive is a prerequisite for unlockinghis daughter's paralogue; in order to survive this chapter, he must have at least an A supoort with Corrin.

Plot

Main article:Wolfskin Peak/Script

Kaze informs Corrin that the Nohrian army has not found them, but has blocked off all routes to Castle Krakenburg, thoughRyoma points out that Mount Garou remains open; Kaze protests that it is too dangerous, but Corrin they are better off traversing it than fighting the Nohrians, and the Hoshidan army travels to Mount Garou. As they climb the mountain, Corrin and Ryoma stop to rest and allow the others to catch up; as they rest, they are confronted by a group of native wolfskin led byKeaton, who suspects they are poachers. Corrin attempts to convince Keaton they are merely passing through, and is successful until a sudden magical explosion kills one of the wolfskin. Keaton is enraged, believing the Hoshidans responsible, and begins attacking them, forcing them to fight for their lives.

Once the battle ends, Corrin is remorseful at being forced to kill so many wolfskin, though Kaze assures them it is not their fault. If Corrin and Kaze have not unlocked their A support, Kaze offers his service as Corrin's retainer; they are interrupted by a landslide which drags them to a ravine, but Kaze catches Corrin and hangs at the edge of the ravine. Kaze admits to Corrin that he was present the day Corrin was kidnapped and had noticed the unusual movement of the Nohrian army, but had not reported it, and thus feels responsible for their fate. AsHinoka arrives, Kaze throws Corrin into the air, and Hinoka catches them; the ground Kaze is holding then breaks off, and Kaze falls to his death. If Kaze and Corrin have unlocked their A support, they are dragged away by a landslide, but Kaze keeps his footing at the top of the ravine and catches Corrin. Kaze notices a crystal in the side of the ravine and throws a shuriken at it, causing it to explode and blow himself and Corrin back to safety. Regardless of Corrin and Kaze's support, at the summit of the mountain, Ryoma consoles Corrin about the fates of the wolfskin and (if applicable) Kaze; they witness the sun rise, and take it as a good omen for their quest.

Summary

Corrin's army manages to break through the border, but control of the main route to the castle remains in Nohrian hands. Corrin seeks another path.
