TheWind Sword (Japanese:かぜの剣Wind Sword) is asword introduced inFire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. It is one of a number ofmagic swords present in the series: it functions as a normal sword, fuelled by the wielder'sstrength and targeting the enemy'sdefense, when attacking directly at 1 range, but can also be used to castwind spells to attack enemies at 2 range. When used to attack from afar, the Wind Sword targets the enemy'sresistance stat, and in the case ofGenealogy of the Holy War andThracia 776, is fuelled by the wielder'smagic stat.

Additionally, inThracia 776, the sword will give swordweapon experience at 1 range as normal, but will instead give wind weapon experience at 2 range, which will only have an effect onMage Knights, as they are the only class in the game that can use both swords and magic.
