Weismann (Japanese:ワイズマンWiseman) is the first boss ofFire Emblem: Thracia 776. He is a soldier of Munster who takes several people in the village of Fiana hostage to interrogate them on the location of the Thracian princeLeif.

Role

Weismann is a soldier servingRaydrik. Inchapter 1, he captures some villagers ofFiana to interrogate them on the location ofLeif, but Leif and the rest of theFiana Freeblades were away fighting pirates. He also capturedFinn's daughterNanna andEyvel's adopted daughterMareeta in an attempt to force him out of hiding from Munster. He is defeated by the Freeblades (who had returned), but Nanna and Mareeta were taken back to Munster by Raydrik.

"Weisman" is used in the most recent, up-to-date version of thefan translation patch, with older versions using "Wiseman", and "Weissman" also common among the fandom outside the fan translation patches.

"Weisman" and "Weissmann" appear to be an attempt to make the name less "English" so as to not seem like his name is just a common word.Weissmann (alternatively spelled Weismann, Weißmann, and other variants) is a German surname meaning "white man";[1] one of its spelling variants, Weismann, also has an additional origin as a surname meaning "wise man".[2]
