TheWarrior (Japanese:ウォーリアーWarrior) is anadvanced infantryclass which debuted inFire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War and has appeared in all games in the series since exceptFates andEchoes: Shadows of Valentia. It is the traditional usualpromoted form of theFighter andAxe Fighter, occasionally also serving as the same forPirates,Brigands orBarbarians; in turn, inRadiant Dawn they can themselves promote to the third-tierReaver class. They primarily wieldaxes, with the addition ofbows in all games exceptRadiant Dawn andThree Houses.
As with their base counterparts, Warriors are defined by their colossalstrength stat and their highHP, and in games which feature the stat theirconstitution is also very high. Although theirspeed is decent, they are primarily hindered by their relatively poorskill, which is compounded by the highweight and lowhit of axes giving them on average less than idealaccuracy andavoid. Additionally, their mediocredefense and their very lowresistance, even compared to the low resistance endemic of physically-inclined units in general, prevents them from making good use of their HP. Nonetheless, their sheer attacking power gives them a significant presence in front-line combat, especially if they are supported with healing units or terrain.
