TheWar Monk (Japanese:バトルモンクBattle Monk) is an advanced class debuting inFire Emblem Awakening. It is one of theclass change options available toPriests, and is the male version of the otherwise identicalWar Cleric. It gains the use ofaxes alongsidestaves.

The class appears inThree Houses asdownloadable content, as part of theCindered Shadows side story. It becomes available in the main story after completing thefirst chapter of this side story. In this game, the class wieldsmagic due to the absence of staves, and specializes inbrawling in addition to axes, gaining access to theFistfaire skill to facilitate this. It is one of only three classes available to the player inThree Houses to have access to both brawling and magic, along with War Cleric andEnlightened One. However, War Monks have only half of the normal amount of uses of their spells.
