Valkyrie (Japanese:バルキリーの杖Valkyrie Staff) is the holystaff once borne by ArchbishopBragi of theTwelve Crusaders, bestowed upon him at theMiracle of Dahna following his blood pact with a dragon. It is the property of Bragi's descendants, the nobility of HouseEdda ofGrannvale, and can only be used by those who bear major BragiHoly Blood. Analogious to theAum staff of the laterArchanea era of the world, the staff is capable of resurrecting a dead individual, albeit limited to those who in life possessed a substantial amount ofquintessence.[1]
History
Assumed by the descendants of House Edda to have been lost for some time,Claud found it inTower of Bragi during his trip there to pray and see the true nature of the conflict embroilingSigurd. He retrieved it and carried it with him in his travels with Sigurd. After Claud's death in theBattle of Belhalla, it came into the possession ofhis child.

Trivia

- Valkyrie is the only one of the Crusader weapons (not countingLoptous, which though bound byHoly Blood is not a Crusader weapon) to not reappear inAwakening.
- TheFortify staff inAwakening closely resembles Valkyrie.
- If the player completesGenealogy of the Holy War twelve times, a scene is added to the opening demo reel in which the dragonForseti, represented as aSage, uses Valkyrie to resurrectLewyn following his death during or after theBattle of Belhalla.
- In said scene, Lewyn's HP was already full before being revived with Valkyrie. When using the staff in actual gameplay to revive a unit, the deceased unit's HP starts at 0, then is restored to its max amount once the unit is fully revived.
