Little detailed research has gone into the unused content ofFire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.[1]
Text
Unused dialogue
Thales, Solon, Kronya, Cornelia, Hanneman, Alois, Nader, and Rufus have unused dialogue fully voiced which is meant to be used when deployed in battle as playable and allied units. Interestingly, Thales, Solon, Kronya and Cornelia have unused banter between each other, while Cornelia has dialogue meant to be used when fighting with an ally Hapi.
Unused chapter titles
| Chapter titles | Notes |
|---|---|
| Flower Interlude Moon Interlude Wind Interlude | These 3 names are listed as Chapters 49-51 internally. Unfortunately, there is no data surrounding these chapters aside from the names. |
Unused movie title
| Movie title | Notes |
|---|---|
| A Lingering Azure Gleam (Alternate Path) | Text for an unused alternative ending cutscene for Azure Gleam. In-game, only the Scarlet Blaze route gets an alternate ending which can only be accessed by recruiting Byleth, suggesting a similar scenario was considered for Azure Gleam at one point. |
Graphics
Unused class sprite
Graphic assets for characters using the scrapped Hero class—both playable and NPCs—can still be found within the game's files.
Unused portraits
Petra with glasses
Petra has 2 unused variants where she wears glasses. Petra did wear glasses in her C support with Ignatz inThree Houses, and while this could be a remnant from said game (given both lack the ability to support inWarriors: Three Hopes), the presence of a post-timeskip portrait meant for this game does put that into question.
BlurredThree Houses Dimitri
A blurred portrait ofThree Houses' post-timeskip Dimitri, which happens to be a leftover from said game.
Blushing portraits
There are multiple characters who have portraits where they blush in spite of never using this emotion at any point. A few of these are used inThree Houses, while others are brand new to this game.
Awakened Shez without fire background
A unused variant of Awakened male and female Shez without the fire background.
Young Edelgard and Dimitri
Upper body portraits of child Edelgard and Dimitri. Unlike withThree Houses, no flashback featuring both characters in their childhood happen in the game, leaving both portraits unused.
Unused icons
| Battalion sprite variations that resemble theFaith ability's icon exist within the game's data. In the final game, alltome battalions use a generic tome icon instead. | |
| Unused icons for higher tiers of weapon buster abilities are left in the game's files. In the final game, most buster abilities cap at level 5, andBow Buster caps at level 4. Additionally, an icon for an unused Level 5 of theTome Buster ability is unused. | |
| Unused icons for additional levels of theCavalry Buster ability are left in the game's files. | |
| Icons for Armor Buster, Flier Buster, and Monster Busterabilities are left in the game's files. No corresponding abilities exist in the final game. | |
| TBA | AllBattalion abilities have icons for levels 1 through 10, many of which are unused. |
Leftover icons
The following leftover icons fromThree Houses are left unused in the game's files:
| Icons for bait and seed-type items exist within the game's files. Both types of items do not appear inWarriors: Three Hopes, as the corresponding monastery activities do not reappear. | |
| Icons for Level 4 and Level 5 weapon prowess abilities exist within the game's files. In the final game, prowess abilities cap out at level 3. | |
| Icons for variousabilities fromFire Emblem: Three Houses are left unused in the game's files. Certain leftover icons went unused even inThree Houses. | |
| The genericcombat art icon fromThree Houses is left unused in the game's files. |
Unused models
Hegemon Edelgard's 3D model
Even though this form of Edelgard appears only in one pre-rendered movie in-game, the model used for it does exist withinWarriors: Three Hopes' files but lies technically unused in-game.
Byleth on pegasus
A model of a refence pose male Byleth on a pegasus, likely used as a placeholder.
Characters
NPCs
Hanneman, Cyril, Anna, Gilbert, and Alois have playable character data such as food preferences and other unique character quirks that are carried over from their playable appearances inThree Houses. They also have unused recruitment flags but lack any unique stats, abilities, and growths, and the game will crash when trying to deploy them or load them in events as well. Lastly, Anna's the only character of the five who lacks unique class icons, as her respective assets weren't carried over fromThree Houses.
Unknown characters
These three unknown characters all share the portrait of male Byleth, whose portrait is the first in the code internally, used as a placeholder. Currently their data is completely blank.
Classes
A total of five classes are left unused inWarriors: Three Hopes' code.
Hero
- Main article:
Hero
The Hero is still usable through hacking but appears to be unfinished due to reusing animations from the Mercenary class and lacking a Class Action animation.
