TheTroubadour (Japanese:トルバドールTroubadour) class is a class of healers on horseback. They first appeared inFire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, in which they could useswords andstaves. After appearing inFire Emblem: Thracia 776, they lost the ability to use swords inFire Emblem: The Binding Blade and on. They have only appeared in the above games,Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade,Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones,Fire Emblem Awakening, andFire Emblem Fates. Usually in other games,clerics orpriests take their place.
Troubadours usually have high magic and luck, since they do not need to attack. Often, they have high resistance but low defense. InGenealogy of the Holy War andThracia 776, although they can use swords, their strength is still slightly below average, so placing them where enemies can attack them can be dangerous. InThe Binding Blade,The Blazing Blade,The Sacred Stones,Awakening, andFates, since they cannot attack at all, they should be kept out of enemy attack range as much as possible.
InGenealogy of the Holy War andThracia 776, troubadours change class topaladins. InThe Binding Blade andThe Blazing Blade, they change class toValkyries. InThe Sacred Stones, they can change class to either Valkyries ormage knights. InAwakening, they can change class to either Valkyries orWar Clerics. InFates, they can change class tostrategists,butlers, ormaids.
All troubadours outside ofFates are female.
