To Bring Smiles (Japanese:??????) is the eighty-sixth edition ofFire Emblem Heroes'sForging Bonds. This event ran from September 16, 2025 through September 30, 2025.

Plot

As a remote, isolated village was being targeted by thieves, Ryoma, Hinoka, Scarlet, and Shura were assigned to help by warding off the thieves and building a bridge to allow villagers easier traversal and better means of asking other settlements for assistance. Though Shura was not confident about his ability to help, and was unable to feel content fighting for the Order of Heroes while his own country, which he aimed to restore, remained lost, Ryoma pointed out that the villagers they fought to protect had the same smiles as the people Shura sought to help, which inspired him to keep going.

After the initial scuffle, Hinoka, who wished to test her strength with her newly acquired Arcane Weapon, was disappointed at the underwhelming thieving forces; however, Scarlet reminded her that they did not fight to prove their power, but to protect the innocent, which they had successfully accomplished. Just then, a larger group of thieves arrives, which the Heroes successfully fend off before they resolve to continue fighting to build a better future.

Shura	They're so isolated that, if anything were to happen, no one would be able to get to them. That must be why they were targeted by thieves.
Ryoma	After we finish building the bridge, they'll be able to seek help at a moment's notice. However, I doubt these thieves are going to sit idly by until this bridge is complete.
Hinoka	Not if they're any bigger than small-time thieves. Still, I do think other Heroes could've handled this.
Ryoma	We came here to protect people. Expelling thieves is no doubt important. Isn't that right, Hinoka?
Hinoka	You're right, Brother. My apologies.
Scarlet	That's Ryoma for you! He makes a great point. We're here to defend people. And I'm itching to go. Aren't you, Shura?
Shura	I may have been summoned a Hero, but I've never had it in me to actually be one.
Scarlet	Hey, why so timid?
Shura	I'll continue the mission, of course. But don't expect much from me.

Ryoma	But not a drop of the villagers' blood was shed. That alone is a desirable outcome.
Scarlet	That's how I see it too. Wipe that frown off your face, Shura. We won!
Shura	Sorry, but...no matter how much I fight here, it will not lead to the restoration of my homeland, Kohga. I hope to return to my original world soon...
Ryoma	While it is true the village in this world has no connection to Kohga... This village and your Kohga do share a similarity.
Shura	What do you mean?
Ryoma	Look at the smiles on the face of these children. They play innocently, knowing the thieves are gone. Tell me, Shura, are these smiles different from those you saw on the faces of children in Kohga?
Shura	I...suppose not. I'll never forget those smiles that I saw in Kohga. They look the same as the ones here—pure and innocent. That is exactly what I want to bring back.

Scarlet	Heh, I get it. Going up against strong opponents excites me too. But sometimes I forget why I fight. I train every day, seeking strength, yet forget what that strength is for.
Hinoka	Oh? Well, I want to use my strength to protect others. When Corrin disappeared, I was inspired to pick up a weapon, but now...I aim to be strong for all people.
Scarlet	So it sounds like you accomplished your goal when you fought those thieves. You didn't fight for the sake of going up against strong foes. You went to battle to protect those villagers.
Hinoka	Yes...you're right. It doesn't matter if my foes are strong or weak. I used my strength just how I wished. And that's the most important thing.
Scarlet	I guess when lives are on the line, so what if our foes are underwhelming? We easily kept those people safe.
Hinoka	Yes. If we had been overwhelmed, it would have taken longer, and people could've been hurt in the process. Thank you, Scarlet. Perhaps I was a bit too enthusiastic after I obtained new strength from this weapon.
Scarlet	No need to thank me. Hm? What's that noise over there?
Ryoma	Hinoka! Scarlet! Prepare to deploy!
Scarlet	What's going on? Are there more thieves to deal with?
Ryoma	Yes. And they are far greater in number now. They're approaching the village as we speak. Shura is scouting the area and just sent out a smoke signal.

Ryoma	Yes... You have my ear.
Azura	I can clearly see how precious Corrin is to you. And that you regret not being able to do anything to help because of the distance between you. But do those feelings perhaps weigh too heavily on your heart, and leave you racked with guilt?
Ryoma	You are worried about me, then? I am touched by your concern. Given how recently Corrin returned to Hoshido, we have not had much time to spend together as family. When my siblings and I gather to reminisce over our shared past, I see loneliness in Corrin's eyes. Corrin did not get to be part of the making of those memories.
Azura	I see...
Ryoma	I want to do whatever I can to make up for that now. I want to create memories of time spent together with all of us.
Azura	Then...wearing that armor is not a form of atonement, but rather a show of compassion.
Ryoma	This armor is creating a memory for the two of us now as we discuss it, is it not? In that way, I believe it can strengthen all of our bonds, not just those with Corrin. You are family too, Azura.

Shura	Because people won't choose to follow leaders who are suspicious of their allies, I suppose.
Bastian	You make a keen observation. Yet the security of a country cannot rely only upon faith in its leaders. As such, Heroes like us who operate outside of the public eye play a vital part in things.
Shura	So that is your purpose. Your role keeps you in the shadows, yet you take pride in your work.
