TheThunderbolt (Japanese:サンダーボルトThunderbolt) is aballista weapon which debuted inFire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, and is used exclusively by theBallisticians ofArchanea. In later games, it is fueled by the wielder'smagic stat instead of theirstrength, and targets the enemy'sresistance instead ofdefense. It is designed to be an anti-ballista weapon and deals bonus damage to other ballisticians by firing electrified bolts.
History
The Thunderbolt device ultimately derives its power from aThunder tome; Thunderbolt carries a copy of the Thunder tome within, thus allowing its power to be used by amateurs, rather than just by trained mages.[1]
