— Sin toRoy

The Bow of Swift Wind (Japanese:疾風の弓Gale Bow) is Chapter 20Bx ofFire Emblem: The Binding Blade. In order to play this chapter, the previous chapter must have been completed within 25 turns, andSue,Sin, andDayan must have been recruited and must be alive.

Plot

Main article:The Bow of Swift Wind/Script

Roy enters ruins inSacae to retrieve the legendary bowMulagir. Sin, Dayan, Sue, orElffin explains that this bow was wielded byHanon of theEight Legends during theScouring. Although the remains of the Djute have laid traps around the ruins, the Etrurian Army defeat them regardless and obtains Mulagir without issue.

After the battle, Roy pens a letter toYoder to inform him of all Roy has learned about dragons from Niime. He gives the letter to Merlinus to read, andGuinivere arrives in his absence. The two continue their previous conversation in privacy.

She tells him thather father was jealous ofZephiel's talents because he was so ordinary, and wished to prevent Zephiel's ascension, going so far as to promise Bern's throne to Guinivere's future husband. Yet the people of Bern wished for Zephiel to become king, motivating Desmond to attempt to murder his son.

Desmond gave Zephiel a poisoned drink at a banquet. For ten days, Zephiel fell ill and only survived thanks toMurdock's aid. Somehow, Zephiel learned of Desmond's plans to murder anyone Zephiel held dear, includinghis mother and Murdock, so Zephiel faked his own demise. During the funeral, when Desmond went to view Zephiel's body, Zephiel jumped from the coffin with a sword in hand, killing his father. Since that moment, Zephiel never smiled again. Though Guinivere misses the kind brother she once knew, she asks Roy to put a stop to Zephiel's plans. Roy answers that he may need his sword to do so, which Guinivere accepts.

Reinforcements

Each trap gate thatRoy seizes produces a number of reinforcements. Because one of the six gates ends the chapter, only up to five of the six sets of reinforcements can possibly be activated at once.

Strategy

This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody.

You only need to seize one specific gate to clear this chapter, but finding the right gate takes some trial and error. However, every time Roy seizes the wrong gate, reinforcements will show up.

Your army is split up from the start. Make sure the group on the top left is slightly stronger than the others. Use this group to either approach the gates at the bottom or support the central group. WithRoy's group, include characters that can cross the river (likePirates,Heroes,Swordmasters, andNomads) to avoid detours. Don't neglect the team at the bottom. Decide whether they'll support Roy's group, head straight to the gates, or engage theDragon Riders.

Be cautious with weaker units likeclerics. Enemies have big movement ranges, and they can easily target your vulnerable units. It's recommended to use promoted characters with high evasion or carry multipleVulneraries. Watch out for enemyNomads—they have the ability to cross rivers, and some will certainly attempt it.

For the boss, it could be any character with a "face" icon. First, prioritize eliminating moving enemies. When facing Nomads, engage them up close so they can't counterattack. After attacking, you can rescue your unit, retreat, and then attack again. ForDruids, use characters with strong attack and speed, and usePure Waters. Make sure you have more than oneRestore between multiple healers.
