Survey Spot

Survey Spots are a mechanic inFire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. They can be found on thewar map, and grant the player additional resouces such asweapons,items, orstrategies upon visiting them. On the war map, they are represented by small icon depicting tents, strongholds, caves, forests, and more.
Mechanics
Survey Spots cannot be visited until the associated side mission has been completed. Each side mission has between two and five survey spots associated with it. As a result, chapters that don't include any side missions also don't feature any survey spots. Most survey spots are unlocked as the corresponding mission is completed, but certain survey spots have further requirements in order to be unlocked, such as completing the associated mission with an S Rank, completing all side objectives in the associated mission, or defeating a certain amount of enemies in the corresponding chapter.
The rewards from survey spots can include the following:
- Weapons andaccessories
- Battalions
- Permanent stat increases
- A boost of morale
- Level increases tocombat arts andmagic
- Support points
- Items
- Strategies
- Activity and Training points
- Freeforge uses
Some survey spots will also allow the player to trade in certain items in exchange for other items. Usually the items gained in this way are either cheaper than usual or are unavailable at the armory entirely. Other survey spots will prompt the player to choose one of two possible rewards, with the other becoming unobtainable.
Like the rest of a chapter's war map, if the player proceeds to the next chapter, all survey spots from the previous chapter become unavailable to them. The game will display a warning if the player is about to proceed to the next chapter without having visited all survey spots in the current chapter.
Extra quests
Certain survey spots will allow the player to participate in extra quests. Some extra quests are pre-determined, while others randomly appear on certain survey spots. Extra quests that randomly appear have a timer that decreases by 1 with each non-extra quest mission played. If the timer reaches 0, the extra quest becomes unavailable. Extra quests often feature raremonsters that can drop rusted weapons that can be repaired at theblacksmith.
Anna
From Chapter 6 onward,Anna will appear on a random survey spot each chapter. As the player completes missions, she will occasionally travel between survey spots. If the player visits the survey spot Anna is at currently, she will open up her shop at the base camp, allowing the player to purchase rare items such asstat-boosting items, seals, andores. For chapters where no survey spots are available, Anna is always available at the camp.
