First game

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones

TheStone Shard (Japanese:魔石のかけら, lit.Demon Stone Fragment) is anunusedmonster weapon fromFire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. It doesn't have its own icon, and uses theRed Gem icon as a placeholder. Like all other unused items, it has only "DUMMY" for a description, a way of clearly pointing out to beta testers that it is an unused (or "dummied out") weapon, should not appear in normal gameplay and that its appearance should be considered a bug to report.

While in and of itself it is unremarkable, it is notable in that it was frequently seen inpre-release material for the game, consistently appearing as the weapon used by monsters in magazine previews for the game. It was also present inthe leaked pre-release build. In all of these early appearances, it instead used theFirestone /Flametongue icon.
