TheSteel Shield (Japanese:鋼の盾Steel Shield) is an accessory item in the shield category ofequipment exclusive toFire Emblem Gaiden,Echoes: Shadows of Valentia ansFire Emblem: Three Houses. It is the third in the standard line of shields, better than theLeather andIron Shields but still inferior to theSilver Shield. It gives a decent boost of 5 points ofdefense inGaiden andEchoes: Shadows of Valentia but only 3 points ofprotection inThree Houses to units who equip it. InShadows of Valentia, it also teaches theDefensive combat art, which allows the user to temporarily improve their physical defenses even further.
