Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light

Starlight (Japanese:スターライトStarlight) is a tome introduced inFire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light. This spell is forged using theStarsphere andLightsphere, two of the spheres which adorn theBinding Shield, and is the only power capable of opposing the darkImhullu tome used by the Dark PontifexGharnef.

History

As a result of being born of the Lightsphere, a blast of Starlight (Japanese:スターライト・エクスプロージョンStarlight Explosion) has the ability to neutralize the attack-sealing effect of theDarksphere-forgedImhullu, and for this reason was created by the White SageGotoh for use byMarth's army in fightingGharnef, Imhullu's wielder, in theWar of Shadows. The sheer strain of Starlight's creation was responsible for shattering the Starsphere into twelve shards and scattering them across Archanea.[1] Three years later in the dawning days of theWar of Heroes, the tome was stolen by the resurrected Gharnef to prevent further use against him, but in the war's aftermath it was wrested back from his possession byMichalis, at the cost of mortal wounds or grave wounds (if recruitment criteria is met inNew Mystery of the Emblem), and returned toMarth.

In order to pierce Gharnef's shadowy veil, Lord Gotoh created a sacred spell named Starlight from that orb.
