TheSlim Sword (Japanese:細身の剣Slim Sword) is a basicsword which was introduced inFire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. It is a weak but lightweight weapon designed as an alternative to the regularIron Sword for units with lowconstitution stats, as its lack of weight keeps the penalties on the user'sattack speed to a minimum, giving lower-leveled sword-wielders a better chance to fight and gain theexperience and stats needed to successfully use heavier swords. However, once these units have overcome this hurdle and gained enoughspeed, the Slim Sword's lowmight and inferiordurability makes its continued use unfavorable when there are stronger swords with better durability available.

The Slim Sword is present as a skill on one card inFire Emblem Cipher:B06-011N Tomboyish Princess, Ethlyn. It is a manual-activation skill which, for a cost of flipping 1 bond card, modifies Ethlyn's weapon type from staff to sword and gives her a +10 attack increase until the end of the turn.
