Artists of theFire Emblem series

Numerous artists have made significant contributions to individual games in theFire Emblem series by providing illustrations of its characters, settings and scenarios. These artists, and the games in which each is credited, are summarized here.
Katsuyoshi Koya
Katsuyoshi Koya (Japanese:小屋勝義Koya Katsuyoshi) provided the vast majority of the card illustrations for theFire Emblem Trading Card Game, with their work covering the entire casts ofFire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light,Mystery of the Emblem,Genealogy of the Holy War, andThracia 776, and is also credited as a graphic designer forMystery andGenealogy. The character and class concept art forGenealogy of the Holy War was drawn by Koya, and would be used as the basis for the in-game character portraits.
Although they were not responsible for the original character artwork used in the box art and manual of any of these games, their work had effectively replaced those forMystery andGenealogy and was the most widely used to represent characters from these two games until the late 2010s, including being used inFire Emblem Awakening for thebonus unit portraits for the cast ofGenealogy. Their artwork was also used as the basis for theFire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War Exceed figurine series, and for the designs of theMystery andGenealogy cast inFire Emblem Cipher. In 2008, they also contributed two "bonus artworks" ofLena andBarst forFire Emblem: Shadow Dragon.
