Analysis

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Vega is possibly one of the strongest combat units the player will have access to. His base stats of 13 skill and agility are absurdly good for his join time. His personal swordShramm makes up for the weaknesses swordfighters tend to have in that it has good stats all around as well as provides the effect of halving all damage Vega receives while it is equipped. This damage reduction works for all damage types, including magical damage and damage that otherwise bypasses all defenses, such as dragon breath. Its effect will also stack withPlum'sDefense Staff, meaning he will take 1/4 damage from all sources if both effects are active. This means that Vega's shortcomings in defense will essentially be made irrelevant when using the Shramm, which is a very strong combination along with the sword's low weight and Vega's high agility. The Shramm also deals effective damage to all monsters. With 30 effective might, Shramm will be able to kill almost every monster in the game in one round of combat.

Vega'sHeaven Saint will also contribute a bit to his survivability and the addition ofWyvern is a bit overkill considering Vega's already high critical rate. He does not take any effort to become effective and will only become significantly better if invested in, as his growth rates are still relatively good. Using Vega is highly recommended as there are few characters that will match his combat ability for most of the game.
